Internship ProgramThe Calder Foundation’s internship program offers an excellent opportunity for students, recent graduates and graduate students of art history and arts administration to receive a varied, hands-on experience in the day-to-day operation of an artist foundation, while gaining an introduction to many facets of the art world. The Calder Foundation is charged with several major goals, including organizing and maintaining the Calder archive, collaborating on publications and exhibitions on the artist, authenticating works attributed to Calder, and most importantly, preparing the catalogue raisonné, which currently documents over 22,000 objects. Interns will focus on one or more archival projects, such as the organization of reference materials or research involving our vast collection of historic exhibitions or publications. Full-time interns will additionally be assigned administrative tasks. Applicants must have completed at least four semesters of college and be mature, detail-oriented and analytic, possessing strong visual and research skills. Knowledge of French and a familiarity with the Macintosh operating system are beneficial. The internship requires a commitment of 10-12 weeks, either part-time or full-time, to be indicated below. Positions are limited and hours will be determined based on qualifications and availability. Compensation will be $12/hour. Completed applications should be received at the address below no later than the date listed for each internship period. Candidates may be contacted by the Foundation for an in-person interview. Deadlines for 2008 are: Summer 2008: 1 May 2008 |
